Description Santa Claus visits Delta, Utah. Leigh Maxfield is the man in red. The new Cessna plane holding Delta's special guest landed from east to west on Clark Street piloted by Leo Burraston in 1948 or 1949. They taxied and parked in front of the community Christmas tree. Santa didn't have black boots--the kids noticed he was wearing low-cut oxfords! Leigh's son Ray was there and he didn't recognize his father even when Santa winked at him. Santa told his wife, Lois, that he had never worked so hard in a mere 20 minutes in his life. The Crest Theater located in the Pace Building offered a free matinee for the kids, Delta, Utah
