DAY TWO: Eight Utes set new personal records while the 4x400 meter relay team highlighted the day earned a second-place finish in the event. The Utah 4x400 meter relay team captured a second-place finish with a time of 3:47.03. Competing for the Utes was senior Grace Englund, senior Alissa Atisme, freshman Jackie Martin, and junior Caitlin Faust. Moving to the 800-meter run, the Utes were led by Faust, who finished in 13th place with a time of 2:09.69. With this time, Faust set a new personal record topping her previous record by two seconds and moves her into seventh place all-time at Utah in this event. Coming in behind Faust and also recording a new best was sophomore Sarah Newton. Newton finished in 27th place with a time of 2:12.14, topping her previous record by two seconds and places her ninth all-time at Utah in the event. Englund finished in 34th place with a time of 2:13.17. Sophomore Melissa Taggart set a new personal record with a time of 2:14.17, topping her previous record by five seconds. Freshman Whitney Hessler captured 64th place with a time of 2:20.09. In the mile race, senior Hannah McInturff led the way for the Utes capturing 44th place with a time of 4:54.07. Senior Megan Perkins-Killian set a new personal record with a time of 5:00.72 while finishing in 61st place. Also competing for the Utes and setting a new personal record was senior Dakota Grossman. Grossman finished in 63rd with a time of 5:02.21. This time barley topped her previous record of 5:02.64. On to the 3,000-meter race, sophomore Poppy Tank led the Utes finishing in 29th with a time of 9:29.75. Finishing behind Tank was freshman Bella Williams. Williams finished in 59th place and set a new personal record with a time of 9:43.74. This time tops her previous record by nine seconds. Coming in behind Williams and also setting a new personal record was sophomore Trina Moreno. Moreno finished in 83rd place with a time of 9:59.08. This time tops her previous record by eight seconds. Freshman Aubrey Argyle also set a new personal record. Argyle finished in 97th place with a time of 10:10.61. Freshman Ruby Jane Mathewson captured 40th place in the 400 with a time of 59.89. She also competed in the 60-meter hurdles for 52nd place with a time of 9.77. In the 60-meter dash, Atisme and Raynee Helm Wheelock competed for the Utes. In the preliminaries, Atisme finished in 10th place with a qualifying time of 7.81. Wheelock captured 29th place with a time of 8.04. In the high jump, junior Eliza Hansen finished in 20th place with a height of 1.54 meters. |
