DAY TWO: Senior Dakota Grossman led the way for the Utes as she took home the event title in the mile run and placed seventh in the 3,000-meter event. In the mile run event, all four Utah competitors placed in the top 10. Grossman crossed the line first with a time of 5:13.54. Following behind Grossman was freshman Aubrey Argyle and sophomore Nicole Griffiths. Argyle finished in third place with a time of 5:17.17 and Griffiths captured a seventh-place finish with a time of 5:20.78. Also competing in this event was sophomore Melissa Taggart. Taggart finished in ninth place with a time of 5:26.43. Moving to the 800-meter event, senior Megan Perkins-Killian and freshman Natalie Platil both finished in the top 10 for the Utes. Perkins-Killian captured second place with a time of 2:16.04. With this time Perkins-Killian recorded a new personal best. Platil finished in 10th place with a time of 2:28.37. In the 3,000-meter event, Grossman and freshman Astrid Lindgren took home top 10 finishes. Grossman finished in seventh place with a time of 10:41.92 while Lindgren captured 10th place with a time of 10:49.29. Griffiths also competed in this event and took home 16th place with a time of 11:04.98. The lone Utah competitor in the 400-meter dash was freshman Rachel Whipple. Whipple finished in 11th place with a time of 59.58. |
