Sarah Feeny recorded the second-fastest time in school history in the mile as the Utah track team recorded several solid performances at the UW Invitational on Saturday. Feeny recorded a time of 4:38.57 to capture second in her heat and fifth overall to rank second on the all-time school record list. Sophomore Sadie Wassum represented the Utes in the unseeded mile with a personal-best time of 5:00.87 to win her heat and place 37th overall. The 800-meter race featured three Utes competing. Leading the charge for the Utes was redshirt senior Ali Eisenbeiss, who posted a time of 2:08.46 to claim seventh overall. Fellow senior Allison Aafedt and freshman Caitie Faust accompanied Eisenbeiss, placing 21st and 41st, respectively. Sophomore Hannah McInturff competed in the 3,000-meter race for the first time in her collegiate career. Recording a time of 9:41.09, McInturff placed 23rd overall. Senior Nikki Rietz claimed 32nd with a time of 9:52.71, followed by Kate Stringfellow in 33rd (9:53.48). The open-seeded 3,000 featured another personal-best performance for the Utes. Junior Becky Sarmiento broke the 10 minute barrier for the first time in her career, recording a time of 9:59.41 for 34th. Jocelyn Todd placed 39th and Shaylen Crook finished 40th. The Utes wrapped up action in Seattle with the 4x400 relay. The relay comprised of Eisenbeiss, Aafedt, Wassum and Faust won their heat and placed eighth overall with a time of 3:55.69. |
