The University of Utah women's cross country team wrapped up action at the Pac-12 Championships with a fifth-place finish. Led by the tenth-place performance of sophomore Hannah McInturff, the Utes finished the day with the highest finish and lowest team score since joining the Pac-12 in 2011. Leading the surge for the Utes, McInturff clocked a tenth-place time of 20:20.04 to earn All Pac-12 Second Team accolades. This feat marks the fourth time a Utah athlete has earned all-conference honors from the Pac-12. Sarah Feeny posted a time of 20:34 for 21st place. Susannah Hurst Spencer crossed the line in 39th place after recording a time of 20:57.6. Andrea Chavez and Jessica Sams claimed 41st (20:58.7) and 45th (21:03.9) respectively for the Utes. Senior Jocelyn Todd earned 47th (21:05.3) followed by sophomore Shaylen Crook in 51st (21:12.7). Other notable performances for Utah include: Dana Snell (64th), Sadie Wassum (69th) and Becky Sarmiento (73rd). The Utes finished the day fifth overall in the team standings with 149 team points. The overall winner was Colorado with 45 points followed by Oregon (51 points), Stanford (80 points), and Washington (92 points). |
