The Utes wrapped up their home meet with six athletes finishing in the top 20, three of which finished in the top 10. The Utes were led by senior Nicole Rietz, who continued to show her veteran leadership with a sixth-place performance. Rietz was in the lead pack throughout the majority of the race, but stumbled towards the end and had to fight to maintain her position. She clocked a time of 14:56.6. Crossing the line second for the Utes and seventh overall was Lauren Mills in a time of 15:01.9. She was followed by freshman Shaylen Crook (15:06.1) in eighth. Rounding out the top five for Utah were freshmen Sadie Wassum and Dakota Grossman. Wassum finished with a time of 15:18.1 to capture 14th and Grossman earned 17th after posting a time of 15:19.9. Other noticeable finishes for the Utes include: Dana Snell (21st, 15:38.4), Jessica Sams (22nd, 15:38.7), Andrea Chavez (24th, 15:50.5) and Makenzie Clark (33rd, 16:10). Susannah Hurst competed unnattached and finished 20th overall with a time of 15:35. Overall the Utes tallied 47 points to earn second just behind Boise State (35 points) in the team standings. BYU recorded 75 points to place fourth overall. |
