Description |
Utah's man-made geyser is a unique oddity, and is the only cold water geyser in the United States. Located close to Green River, Utah, in the southeastern section of the state, the geyser spouts regularly every hour and ten minutes and erupts to a height of 200 feet. The geyser came into existence when oil well drillers hit a water pocket not far under the surface. Accumulated natural gas forces the water high into the air during a brief eruption period. This phenomenon is accessible from U. S. Highway 6 and 50. |
