This is a controversial photograph. Nicholas G. Morgan labeled the photo as Union Square. Nelson Wadsworth claims it is the groundbreaking ceremony for the Salt Lake Temple. A copy in the Gates collection is labeled as Emmigrants in Tithing Office yard. |
