DR. MARK R. SARFATI TO PERFORM TWO ENDOVASCULAR AORTIC ANEURYSM REPAIRS

Fyi, Dr. Mark R. Sarfati, assistant professor in the division of vascular surgery at the U of U School of Medicine, will perform two endovascular aortic aneurysm repairs Tuesday at University Hospital. In this procedure, two incisions are made in the groin arteries. A "graft," i.e, a dacron polyester sleeve connected to metal stents for connecting it to the artery or arteries, is radiologically guided as it is threaded up the smaller arteries to the aneurysm in the aortic artery.
