Description |
Although acquired third nerve palsy is relatively common, congenital third nerve palsy is rare. Birth trauma is frequently thought to be causative. In two patients with a complete congenital third nerve paralysis an MRI documented an absent oculomotor nerve and mal-development of the extra ocular muscles (EOM) normally innervated by the third nerve. |
