Title |
Millard County: An Economy in Transition |
Date |
2019 |
Description |
Millard County's economy for the last 40 years has primarily been spawned by the Intermountain Power Project (IPP). The Project consists of three major portions - the coal-fired generating units, the Northern Transmission System (NTS), and the Southern Transmission System (STS). The Project is about to transition from coal to natural gas due to changes in demand from its California customers. This transition will have a huge impact not only on the IPP workers, but the other businesses and families in Millard County that depend on the Project's economy. |
