Child care is an essential industry in the United States. Until they are old enough to be independent, children must be taken care of, but in the decades since the Second World War, both parents have increasingly participated in the workforce full time. There is also the rise in single-parent families. While the parents are at work, the children must be cared for, and that is what the child care industry is for.
