Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Journal History containing references to Utah Indians. In this letter from the notes of James G. Bleak, Frank F. Bennett reports that Captain Hamblin and Prof. John W. Powell came to the U.S. Navajo Agency in New Mexico to discuss depredations alleged to have been committed by Navajo Indians. The Navajos met in council with the two men and reached an agreement in which the Navajos agreed to prevent any future depredations. Bennett assures the recipient of his letter that the Navajos will deliver on their promise |
