Description Black & white US Army portrait photograph of Edith father's Arthur T. Blank. He was in the 89th infantry division and served in France during WWII. The 89th infantry helped liberate a concentration camp. [The Camp referred to is presumably Ohrdruf, a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp, which was liberated by the 89th Infantry on On April 4, 1945. The 89th Infantry Division's nickname, the "Rolling W," is based on the division's insignia (on left sleeve of jacket)].
