Show This photograph is a portrait of Serena Nielson, a graduate of the Salt Lake Collegiate Institute. Miss Nielson is dressed in a lightly colored top with a lace collar and two roses are pinned to her top in the center below the collar. She is turned to the left so more of her right side is visible and her light, curly hair is pulled back with a large black bow behind her head. The photograph is on a cream colored rectangular mat that has decorative notches and gold trim on all sides. "Matson & Christenson, Uintah Building, Commercial Street, Salt Lake City, Utah" is printed in gold ink at the bottom of the photograph. |

The photograph shows signs of aging as there is yellowish discoloration on the front of the photo. Also it looks as though the photograph may have been in a fire because of dark brown burn marks on the back of the mat. Written on the front of the photograph in pencil is an "O" in the bottom left hand corner. Underneath the "O" on the mat is a "Q" written in pencil along with her name "Serena Wilson." On the backside of the mat, "Serena Nielson, originally of Ephraim; Married Rev. Adam G. Frank; A graduate of the Salt Lake Collegiate Institute" is handwritten in black ink. Below this writing, "Westminster" is written in ink with, "Lived at Brigham City and Mt. Pleasant" written below it in pencil. |
