Show A large photograph of the Westminster College French Club or "Le Cercle de la Fayette" of 1917-1918; consisting of six women and two men. The small group stands on the entrance steps to Converse Hall in a cluster formation. The men stand in the back and the women stand in front. The two men are dressed in dark suit coats with light colored shirts and long neck ties. Their hairstyles are either combed straight back or combed to the side. The six women are dressed in a variety of light and dark colored blouses, skirts or dresses, which are either patterned or conservative. The women standing in the front are wearing dark colored shoes. |
Further Information |
The photograph is in fair condition. It has a tear near the top center caused from being torn off the cardboard backing of which it was glued to for many years. Some of the edges appear to be worn and nicked by age and handling. The front of the photograph is free of any handwriting. There is a white border at the bottom and along the right edge which appears to be development related. The top and left edges also seem to have been trimmed to expel this white border. There is also a developmental white blotch at the left hand side and a black mark positioned next to it. A development specification tag is glued to the back of the photograph, which gives categories for dimension and a description area. In the description area written in pencil is the following: "Westminster College [,] French Club, page 54 [,] 4 ½ x 7." On the rest of the backside is glue stains from the cardboard backing it was glued to. The cardboard backing the photograph was once glued to identified the photo |
