Description Uintah Railway pulling away from the Thimble Rock Mine near Rainbow, Utah. The men are riding on one of the articulated engines that was used to make the sharper turns of the track that was between Watson and Rainbow. There was much talk about extending the tracks to different mines but the only extension actually laid by the Uintah Railway after 1911 amounted to two or three loading spurs near Rainbow. The Thimble Rock landmark is in the background of the photo.
