Image was scanned from color slide. Note: In 1903, Henry E. Huntington and William Hertrich began working together to mold 207 acres of working ranch into botanical gardens of rare and exotic plants. The name of the Chinese Garden at Huntington Botanical Gardens is Liu Fang Yuan meaning "flowing fragrance," referring to the scent of flowers and trees, including the pine, lotus, plum, and other native Chinese plants found here.--The Huntington Botanical Gardens website. |
