Description |
A view along the Cowboy Gilsonite vein looking southeast of the rim of the bluffs north of White River. The Cowboy vein is the largest vein in the Uintah Basin. It alone contains approximately 14 million tons of Gilsonite which has hardly been touched. Most of the Gilsonite in this vein is second grade. It is ""weathered"" and will not dissolve readily in ordinary Gilsonite solvents. A short distance northwest of this picture the cowboy vein is nearly 18 feet wide. |
