Description | Address: 203 S. 200 East, Salt Lake City. The first Methodist missionary, Rev. Lewis Hartsough, preached his first sermon in Dec. 1869 at Independence Hall. The first official meeting took place on 22 May 1870, Rev. Gustavus Peirce presiding, and a building erected in 1871 on 300 South. That building was sold in 1905 and a new site selected a block away. The present building was completed in 1906. Today it also hosts an Urdu Methodist congregation. |
