| Description |
Dr Callister was Dean of the College of Medicine, 1942-1945. Dr. Callister was responsible for the transition from the two-year to the four-year school. He received his A.B at the University of Utah and his M.D. at Harvard University in 1917. He was Instructor in Anatomy and Surgery in 1919 and 1922 and Lecturer in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah 1922-1941. Dr. Callister was an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery, 1943-1960. Dr Callister died in 1961. The portrait of Dr Callister was painted by Alvin Gittins in 1970. All portraits at present are in temporary storage during the library retrofit. |
