Show (161) Garland Hurt to RG 75 Jacob Forney Microcopy 234 Sept. 14, 1858 Reel 898 Utah Agency Sept. 14, 1858 Sir, I have the honor of communicating at this date my annual report of the condition of this agency, which is intended to embrace such facts as the history of the Service may have developed with such suggestions as circumstances may seem to justify. An account of my services in the quarter ending March 31st was communicated to you in my quarterly report of April last, and I deem a further allusion to deem unnecessary at this time. Since the advance of the civil officers into the Settlements my time has been devoted chiefly to the unsettled business of the Agency. Many complaints have been prefered against Indians belonging to this agency during the summer charging them with thefts and other serious crimes with the most of which you have already been made acquainted. In the month of May a small party of Utahs under a tribe Chief named Ank-an-a-Wan-Kan, (Red and Yellow) stole a large band |
