Description |
The sun is the powerful star of our solar system. Solar maculopathy has traditionally been reported in cases of unprotected solar eclipse viewing or prolonged sungazing associated with spiritual practices, psychiatric illness, or drug abuse. Solar maculopathy has a good prognosis, however, some patients have permanent decrease in visual acuity with chronic symptoms of blurred vision and scotomas and persistence of macular scar. We present the first case of solar maculopathy induced by sunset gazing. |
