Description Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) is the most common inherited mitochondrial disorder that affects males ages 10- 30 years. It presents as unilateral progressive optic neuropathy with subsequent involvement of contralateral eye. We describe a 14-year-old male who presented with bilateral vision loss and other associated neurologic dysfunction mimicking demyelinating disease but subsequently was diagnosed with "LHON Plus".
