Description |
Formed and unformed visual hallucinations occur under a variety of circumstances and in some instances are a feature of intracranial tumors. Formed visual hallucinations are most commonly associated with temporal lobe lesions and lesions located at the parieto-occipital junction. Gloning et al. studied 106 patients with visual hallucinations of various causes and concluded that complex visual hallucinations in the hemianopic field have no value in localizing the intracranial lesion responsible for producing them. Unformed visual hallucinations are most commonly associated with occipital lobe lesions. |
