Description The goal of this study was to determine the incidence of giant cell arteritis (GCA) in Ontario, Canada and determine the factors influencing which surgical specialists perform temporal artery biopsies (TABs). Significant geographic variability in referral patterns may lead to residents in surgical specialties such as ophthalmology with inadequate exposure to this procedure.
