Subject Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy; Visual Field Loss; Off-Axis Cecocentral Scotoma
Description We conducted a retrospective study of the results of color vision testing in patients with anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (AION). In the great majority of cases, color vision tended to parallel visual acuity; normal acuity was associated with normal (or nearly-normal color vision while reductions in acuity were accompanied by commensurate color deficits. However, 7 patients were identified in whom color vision was relatively spared in comparison with acuity.
