Description |
Diagnosis must be clearly established Skull x-rays, CT scan and lumbar puncture should be done. Initial visual studies should include fundus photos and visual fields. When the patient is a man or is over age 50 whether man or woman, one needs to be especially vigilant, since the sex ratio is so clearly female 5:1 to 9:1 in various series, and it tends to be seen in a younger population. Pseudopapilledema and migraine or tension headache account for most cases of mistaken identity. |
