Description Ischemic optic neuropathy (ION) is the most common cause of perioperative visual loss after spine surgery. Previous studies to identify risk factors have been limited by lack of intraoperative data, small numbers cases , or heterogeneous case mixes. Consequently, risk factors for perioperative ION in spine surgery remain unclear.
