Final Score |
For the first time in more than 25 years, the Utah men's golf team took home both individual and team titles at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, at Colorado National Golf Club. Junior Kyler Dunkle earned the program's first regular-season individual title since 2006, while guiding the Utes to the program's first team title since 2009. Utah won in a playoff with tournament host Colorado, after the two teams finished the 54-hole event tied at 22-under par (842). The Utes, who went into the final round in third place behind Colorado and Wyoming, carded a combined 11-under par (277) in Tuesday's third round - the lowest round of the day and the second-lowest round of the tournament (Colorado, 275). This also marks the first time Utah won both individual and team titles in the same event since taking home the Skywest Collegiate championship back on Oct. 30-31, 1990. Utah's Phil Holmes won the individual title for the Utes. |
