The Leo Bradford Leonard Photograph Collection follows his life as a civilian band member in the 1930s to joining the army band of the 88th Division of the 32nd Infantry and consequently being assigned as a military policeman in Germany and Europe around the time of World War II and immediately following. The main bulk of photographs are postcards and tourist images purchased by Leonard depicting towns and cities throughout Europe. The collection also contains personal photographs of Leonard and his second wife Elisabeth Josefine Gangl and her family in Europe as well as formal portraits. Also included is an album owned by Elisabeth before World War II showing friends and acquaintances in Germany. |
