Show II. RECENT ENTRIES IN METEOROLOGICAL AND GEOASTROPHYSICAL ABSTRACTS Because the great prolIferation of publications has struck the snow and avalanche field, it has become essential to work first with abstracts, and then, if more detail is required, to consult the original paper. Thorough abstracts can be found in the METEOROLOGICAL AND GEOASTROPHYS-ICAL ABSTRACTS, a monthly publication that began in 1950 ( Volume 1). For the average person, the cost of subscription to this publication is prohibitively high, but the ABSTRACTS can be found in all University libraries. The following entries are of interest: note: 18.7- 534 means Volume 18, July, entry no. 534. 17- 1~ 374 snow cover properties 17.1" 377 aval, mechanics 17.2- 4 aval, general I7.2- 312 aval, mechanics, forecasting 17.5- 200 radiation effects on snow, aval. 17- 6- 417 depth hoar 17.6- 418 aval, mechanics 17.1 l_ i* 27 aval, magnitude, damage 18.1- 10 aval, mechanics, forecasting 18.1- 348 aval, research 18.1- 349 aval, forecasting I8.5- 337 aval, research 18.6- 82 aval, movement calculations 18.6- 464 snow creep 18.6- 465 aval, mechanics, frequencies 18.6- 467 aval, mechanics, movement, frequencies 18.6- 468 aval, mechanics, movement 18.6- 469 aval, forecasting I8.7- 516 snow, aval, conference 18.7- 519 snow density variations 18.7- 521 heat exchange in snow 18.7- 522 snow mechanics 18.7- 525 snow metamorphlsm 18.7- 526 snow creep 18.7- 528 aval, mech., snow strength ' 8.7- 530 pressure waves in snow ' 8.7- 531 aval, control, snowdrift control 18.7- 534 18.7- 535 18.7- 536 18.7- 537 18.7- 538 18.9- 449 18.9- 454 18. 18. 18. 18. 18. 18. aval, distribution and formation aval. control aval. control aval, effects on glaciers aval, meteorology, volume snow cover studies snow density, mtn. slopes 10- 503 afforestation 11- 418 properties of alpine snow 11- 419 mt. snow cover 11- 423 heat transfer in snow 11- 424 heat transfer in snow 11- 425 aval, movement, control 19.3- 304 19.3- 305 19.3- 307 19.3- 308 19.3- 311 19.3- 314 19.3- 315 19.3- 316 19.3- 319 19.3- 320 19.3- 321 19.3- 322 19.3- 323 19.3- 324 19.3- 326 snowline variations, aval research snow strength meas., aval mechanics snow cover pressure snow cover stress snow cover properties snow density variations, aval, danger snow metamorphism optical prop, of snow snow strength aval, classification aval. meteorology thermal prop, snow, aval. mech. depth hoar control snow sintering wind drift, avalanche formation |
