Show APR 13 1923 Mr. Henry J. Armstrong, 1045 E. South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Mr. Armstong: Your letter of April 6, with reference to the Piute Indians in San Juan County, Utah, together with newspaper clippings relating thereto, is received. The Department now has under consideration the question of making allotments to, and of establishing a school for these Indians ,and I wish to thank you for the information given by you. The Department appreciates your offer of services and regrets that favorable action can not be taken on your suggestion. We have a competent man now in the service who shortly will be available for any necessary allotment work in Utah, and it is believed it will be better policy to assign him to that duty. Sincerely, ( Sgd.) HUBERT WORK. Secretary |
