Description It's hard to ignore medical problems when they're brought right to your hotel room in Tibet. Arlene Samen, R.N., a certified nurse practitioner in the University of Utah medical school's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, visited there last summer with a humanitarian group, and was overwhelmed with patients who knocked on her door seeking medical attention and advice. The 1998 visit, with the Tibet Children's Nutrition Project, was Samen's second trip.
