Description Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a condition of raised intracranial pressure that features debilitating headaches with migraine-like characteristics. Cortical Spreading Depression (CSD), a propagating wave of depolarisation across the cerebral cortex, proposed to activate trigeminal nerve afferents and contribute to headache pathophysiology. Fasting is noted to trigger and aggravate headache attacks, therefore using a mouse brain slice model, we aimed to investigated the impact of hypoglycaemia and CSD on mitochondrial and metabolic function.
