Description Authorship gender gaps have been reported in ophthalmology and neurology, especially among senior author positions, with a female last author proportion of 27% in ophthalmology and 25% in neurology publications. Women are also underrepresented in senior faculty positions in medicine overall, with only 25% of full professors and 18% of department chairs being female in 2018-2019. Whether this disparity is evident in neuroophthalmology is not known.
