Description Oral History Interview by Ken Verdoia with Yoshiko Uchida. Ms. Uchida is one of the better know Topaz residents because of her writing on the subject. Relocated during her undergraduate years a the University of California in Berkeley, she taught elementary school at Topaz during the war. She eventually published Desert Exile, a personal account of the impact of War Relocation on her family.Ms. Uchida maintained an active schedule through her widely published writing.
