Description Oral History Interview by Ken Verdoia with Harry Kitano, PhD. Doctor Kitano was a highschool student in San Francisco, California at the outbreak of World War II. His was one of the first families relocated from their homes after the signing of Executive Order 9066. Doctor Kitano is now a professor of sociology at UCLA, and has written extensively about the War Relocation experience. In Topaz, he was the high school class president and captain of the Topaz football team.
