Formation of the vertebrate visual system is guided by a complex set of developmental mechanisms that we are only beginning to understand. In this talk I will discuss how major components of the anterior visual pathway are established within the embryo. I will also discuss the relationship between genes involved in early eye dvelopment and genetic disorders affecting vision. |
