Description The effect of a short-term perceptual-motor program on the visual perceptual abilities and reading achievement of second grade students was examined. Pre-and posttests with the Frostig Developmental Test of Visual Perception and the Gates-MacGinitie Reading Tests were administered to the experimental and control groups. The experimental group received the perceptual-motor program for 15 minutes each day totaling 15 sessions over a seven-week period. Results indicated that the program significantly improved the students' visual perceptual skills but had no apparent effect on their reading ability.
