Title | Crossing the malestream: Issues and perspectives on the division of labor |

Description | I argue in this paper that household factors which shape and reinforce social, and later economic, institutions influence the sexual division of labor. These same institutions, which ignore household factors, have in turn shaped the underlying assumptions upon which the neoclassical model of the household is based. Therefore, the theory is insufficient in explaining the sexual division of labor between the household and the market among men and women, respectively. |
