This piece consists of photographed portraits of fifteen individuals. The portraits are black and white, the subjects' names inserted at the bottom of the photo. The fifteen photos in the top row are decorated with the outlines of various countries. The bottom fifteen photos are identical portraits, this time covered in annotations regarding the subjects' features and inhereitance. / "Working with children as an artistic medium requires careful consideration of crafting an environment where their ideas and identities are respected. Helping them understand their own identity and background is the beginning of respecting others. In this piece, artists created a work that examines the countries our ancestors originated from as a form of realizing the beginning of what we had in common as well as what where we might differ. For a companion piece, we examined physical and personality traits we inhereited, through DNA and environment, from family.
