Overview of the McPherson Ranch located on the Ute Indian Reservation in southern Uintah County. Jim McPherson began ranching on the Florence Creek around 1890. He befriended outlaws like Butch Cassidy by providing horses, food and lodging if needed. It was sold to the Ute Indians in the 1940's. The new buildings to the top of the photo was built by the Ute Tribe. They called this Florence Lodge. by providing horses, food and lodging if needed. |
