Description |
Southern Pacific unit 7108 is a G.P. 40 type locomotive built by G.M. and rebuilt by the Morrison-Knudsen Co. in Boise, Idaho in 1991. It sports the new Southern Pacific lettering adopted in 1991 in place of the older Roman type lettering. The lettering is modeled after the similar Rio Grande lettering, a sister RR company since their common ownership since 1988. The locomotive is still painted in traditional Southern Pacific dark gray and red with white letters and numbers. Taken in June, 1991. Donor and Photog: Mike B. Davis. |
