Content Description +/-This collection consists of fundraising publications created and/or collected by the Office of Institutional Advancement, Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah. The materials date from 1899-2001 and include advertisements, announcements, brochures, flyers, invitations, newsletters, and plans. All the publications are related to the fund-raising activities of the college. They contain information on upcoming events, donors, fund-raising activities, and campaigns. The materials are used to promote the college, to inform potential donors of Westminster College fundraising efforts, and ultimately to aid in raising funds to support the college. The collection includes photocopies of several 1899 advertisements for "The Proposed Sheldon Jackson Presbyterian College" to be built in Salt Lake City, Utah. These advertisements appeared in the October 19, 1899 issues of The Evangelist, vol. 70, p. 30-31 and Christian Work : illustrated family newspaper, vol. 67, p. 606-607. These periodicals, held by New York Public Library's Reference Department have been scanned by Google and can be viewed online at: The Evangelist, vol. 70 and Christian Works, vol. 67.
