Biographical Note/Historical Note +/-Paul Fawley was a lifetime member of the Board of Trustees of Westminster College, Salt Lake City Utah, and received the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from that institution in 1973. Paul Calvin Fawley was born May 22, 1908 in Kosciusko County, Indiana, the son of James and Allie Moore Fawley. He received his BA degree from the University of Indianapolis, his MA degree from the University of Montana, and his Doctorate in Educational Administration from Indiana University. He taught and was a superintendent of schools in Montana and Wyoming in the 1930s and 40s. Fawley was Professor of Educational Administration at the University of Utah from 1949 until retirement in 1976. He was Departmental Chairman for 17 years and Chairman of the Planning Committee for the National Council for Educational Administration. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City, a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge A.F. & A.M.. and a member of the Scottish Rite. Paul Fawley died Dec. 17, 1998 in Eugene, Oregon at age 90. Content Description +/-This collection consists of the records of Paul Fawley, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah encompassing the years 1962-1981. These records relate to both the general activities of the Board and the attempts of the Board to gain financial support from the State of Utah (1976-1979) including discussions with Terrence Bell, Utah's Commissioner of Higher Education. The materials include agendas, budget information, bulletins, charts and diagrams, contracts, financial records, lists, minutes, notes, proposed legislation, memoranda, reports, and rosters.
