Onigawara is a specialized form of roof tile in the shape of a "gargoyle", which is occasionally found as an end piece of roofs for certain temples and shrines, and less often on residential roofs as well. Amanohashidate is a pine-covered sand spit whose name means "bridge to heaven." Image was scanned from color slide. Caption is from photographer's notes on slide |
