Correspondents include Ralph A. Young, Elliott Thurston, George L. Radcliffe, Merritt Sherman, and Robert V. Roosa. Includes a 14-page typescript of a statement by William McChesney Martin, Federal Reserve Chairman, before the Subcommittee on Domestic Finance of the House Committee on Banking and Currency on 21 January 1964; and a selection of documents from 1935 and 1938 that Mr. Eccles's secretary sent to Merritt Sherman in 1976 to demonstrate "some of Mr. Eccles' ideas relating to the Federal Reserve and particularly to the bank examination process." |
