Description Helper locomotive on an eastbound freight at Winter Park, Colorado, on a snowy day in 1961. The locomotives are of the "Ft" type built by General Motors Corporation. These type units were the first type used by the Rio Grande to dieselize road freight operations. Caboose was built by the road's Burnham Shops in Denver, Colorado.
