Description S-5964 MINUTEMAN INSTALLATION IN UTAH. Here is an architectural sketch of the Air Force Minuteman intercontinental ballistic missile assembly plant under construction near Ogden, Utah. The plant will consist of 56 structures which are being modernized and six new buildings. Construction began September 15th, and the Boeing company, which will operate the facility, will begin to install equipment next summer. Most of the structures are for the storage of the missile's three solid propellant engines. After assembly the missiles will be transported to underground launch sites or placed aboard special railroad trains. -- Boeing Airplane Company Photo.
